Matcha is a powdered green tea harvested once a year (in April) in Japan. It is a Tencha green tea, used in Cha No Yu, the codified Japanese tea ceremony that goes back to the 17th Century. An easy way to use Matcha at home is: place a teaspoon of Matcha in a large bowl, pour 5 oz of simmering water and beat the mixture with a tea whisk until you get a foamy result.
