This Vietnamese cooked Pu Erh cake has powerful notes of cellar, damp wood, dry wood and animal that really linger in the mouth and are sustained by a deliciously smooth, creamy texture.
This cooked Pu Erh cake comes from the city of Vi Xuyen (1,000 hectares) on Tay Con Linh mountain (Ha Giang province). The Cao Bao garden, situated at an altitude of between 1,300 and 1,500 metres, is home to 300 ancient trees, some of which are over 100 years old. Because Vietnamese Shan tea plants are equivalent to old Chinese Shan trees, this Vietnamese Pu Erh rivals its Chinese neighbour.
